Peppermint Hot Chocolate Toddy – Made in USA (video)
Ok, so we have to admit, when Starbucks comes out with their peppermint mocha coffee delicacies- we can’t wait, and every season we look forward to these tasty treats. Now take the same mocha chocolate peppermint taste and turn it into a delicious holiday cocktail you can serve at home (sans the caffeine)– and Made in USA! Serving tip: Rely on slow cooker to make the hot chocolate and keep it warm during a holiday party.
8 cup(s) whole milk
1 can(s) (14-ounce) sweetened condensed milk
3 cup(s) bittersweet or semisweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon(s) vanilla extract
1 teaspoon(s) peppermint extract
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
Sweetened whipped cream, for topping
Crushed candy canes, for topping
Put the milk, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, crème de menthe (or vodka), vanilla extract, peppermint extract, and salt in a 7-quart slow cooker.
Cover and cook on high 2 hours or until combined, whisking vigorously halfway through to help chocolate melt.
Switch to warm for serving. Set out whipped cream and crushed candy canes, for topping.
